Beautifully presented throughout with lovely views of the Loughrigg Fell and River Rothay, Gilbertscar Foot has been tastefully furnished to ensure the inside is reflective of the properties Victorian roots, whilst offering guests modern day conveniences.
Sitting on a country lane, Gilbertscar Foot offers the best of both worlds enjoying a peaceful position where you can relax and unwind, with the many amenities of bustling Ambleside just fifteen minutes walk away. One of the most popular towns in the Lake District, Ambleside is a magnet for walkers and climbers. It has a good choice of pubs and shops as well as attractions that include Stock Ghyll Force with its incredible waterfall and National Trust's Bridge House which straddles Stock Ghyll beck (one of the areas most photographed attractions). Stagshaw Gardens is another of Ambleside's attractions, as is the Armitt Museum and Waterhead Pier (just a 15-minute walk from the cottage) where you can take a Windermere ferry to Bowness, Brockhole Visitors Centre, Wray Castle (a great day out) and Lakeside Pier.
Many visit the Lake District to enjoy the myriad of wonderful walks and a stay at Gilbertscar Foot puts you firmly at the heart of some of the Lake District's finest routes. The cottage adjoins the owners B&B and is part of the elegant Victorian property. Completely self-contained, the cottage has its own entrance which is accessed via seven steps.
Outside: Guests have the shared use of the garden where there is a terrace with outdoor furniture for sitting out in the sunshine (BBQ also available for use). The cottage has its own parking for 2 cars (additional vehicles can be parked in the car park to the B&B where there is an unfenced babbling river).
Additional information: Heating, electricity, towels and bed linen included in the price, along with WiFi. Sorry but no dogs and strictly no smoking. No children under the age of 10.
