Fisherground Farm is home to the three pine self catering holiday lodges, Barn Garth, Field End and Wood Bank. They are all set within an acre of orchard with ancient apple trees and stream that opens out to the raft pool.
What could be nicer than sitting out on the veranda of your lodge with a gin and tonic whilst watching the children play and the world go by. All three lodges face South and the orchard is a natural suntrap, making it the perfect place to relax on a sunny day.
There is a laundry room which guests have shared use of as well as a games room (with pool and table tennis) and a toddlers playground. Best of all is the raft pool where children of all ages let off steam in the shallow waters. There is lots of space at Fisherground for games and for pets, and you can start any number of walks of all types right from the door.
The area offers plenty to do and see and within walking distance you have: Scafell Pike - England's highest mountain; Wastwater - England's deepest lake; Hundreds of riverside, valley and mountain walks and climbs; Ravenglass & Eskdale Miniature Railway; Muncaster Castle with its azaleas, rhododendrons and Owl Sanctuary; Hardknott Roman Fort & Ravenglass Roman Bath House; Eskdale Corn Mill - still working with its waterwheel; Ravenglass fishing village; Fishing on the river or stocked pool; Fold End Art Gallery and Stanley Ghyll waterfall. You are able to buy a good range of provisions at the local village shop and there are five pubs within the valley serving good ale and food.
For those who want to venture a little further afield, there are many pleasures to enjoy within the Lake District and surrounding area including historic houses, castles and gardens, boating or pleasure cruises on the lakes, golf, Cumbria's sandy beaches and horse riding.
