Acme Views is located in the pretty and unspoilt Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands on the southern tip of the Lake District. Providing self-catering accommodation for three people in two bedrooms this deceptively spacious 18th century cottage is a peaceful retreat for couples or friends looking to explore this beautiful area (sorry but children and pets cannot be accepted).
You don't need to wander far to enjoy the amenities of this tranquil little town. Hazelmere Café arguably offers the best selection of teas in the UK whilst anyone with a sweet tooth will love the Choco Lori handmade chocolate shop and cafe. If you prefer something more savory Higginson’s butchers sell prize winning pies. Less than five minutes drive away is the ancient village of Cartmel which is famed for its sticky toffee pudding. You will also find fantastic artisan breads and cheeses as well as Michelin star restaurants if you fancy a night off cooking.
It’s not all about fantastic food on the Cartmel peninsula. Whether you like to walk, bike or swim there are plenty of opportunities to work up an appetite. Play a round of golf at the Grange-over-Sands Golf Club or take a gentle stroll along the promenade. If you want to stretch your legs a bit further enjoy the view from the top of Hampsfell or walk over the hill to Cartmel. Whilst you are here make sure you visit the ancient Priory that was built in the 11th Century.
Other local attractions include Cartmel racecourse, the Haverthwaite Railway, the Motor Museum and Holker Hall Estate which offers tours of the gardens and hall along with a visitor’s shop and café. Just seven miles away you will find Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a variety of watersports and boating activities, or just a little further away you can explore the numerous walking and biking trails at Grizdale Forest. If you are feeling adventurous you can try your hand at the Go Ape course or simply admire the stunning views and enjoy a leisurely picnic.
Whether you are looking for an action packed holiday or a peaceful rural retreat, Acme Views offers a real home from home holiday accommodation that is cosy and comfortable all year round.
