Skerryvore is a comfortable holiday home a 20-minute walk from Oban's town centre and its plentiful choice of places to shop, eat and drink. The house, which is attached to the owner's but is entirely self-contained, is ideal for families as there is space for up to five guests in three lovely bedrooms, or seven people with the use of the double sofa bed.
A holiday in Oban is always a fantastic idea. The town faces its harbour and the neighbouring island of Kerrera, and the port is one of the busiest in Scotland. Take an island-hopping ferry trip to Mull, Iona and Staffa, or treat yourself to the unforgettable experience of watching whales, basking sharks and other marine life that thrives in local waters. Oban may be small compared with some towns you have visited, but it's an economic hotspot with an excellent variety of independent shops, friendly pubs and excellent restaurants. Oban's attractions include the Dunollie Castle and Museum, and Dunstaffnage Castle and Chapel. Take a walk (or drive - there's a car park nearby) up to McCaig's Tower for panoramic views over the bay and surrounding islands, have a picnic at Ganavan Sands, or drive or cycle the five miles to Dunstaffnage Castle. Guests can also play golf, fish and go diving.
In addition to its beautiful views, fantastic footpaths and exciting cycling trails, Oban is well known in certain circles for the quality of its food, especially the fresh seafood which comes from the fishing boats in the harbour. Alternatively, spend a few hours fishing at nearby Inverawe fishery from where they ship some of the best Scottish smoked salmon around the world. The Oban Distillery has produced single malt scotch since 1794, while the Oban Chocolate Company provides handmade goodies to finish any meal on a sweet note.
Skerryvore is in a quiet residential cul-de-sac that is convenient for the town centre and its many attractions. The owners have created a comfortable base that is welcoming to visitors all year round.
