Parkside Cottage is the Highland holiday home of your dreams. Beautifully renovated with meticulous attention to detail, the three-bedroom property sleeps six people and is close to the Caledonian Canal at Dochgarroch Lock. Dochgarroch is home to An Talla, a café and retail centre on the banks of the canal, or the lively city of Inverness is only four miles away, putting a vast choice of shops and eateries within a short drive or a relaxed bike ride away. The cottage is ideal for families and friends who don't want to compromise on comfort or location. Whether this is your first time exploring the Highlands and Loch Ness or you're a regular visitor, you'll find there's nowhere quite like Parkside Cottage.
Dochgarrock Lock is one of the last locks on the Caledonian Canal before you reach Inverness. It's a busy stretch of water, especially in the summer, with canal boats and pleasure cruisers making their way up and down the canal. The lovely 3.5-mile walk or bike ride beside the canal into Bught Park and Inverness is gorgeous in every season. Alternatively, ‘Loch Ness by Jacobite’, just a minutes walk away from Parkside Cottage, sail from Dochgarroch to Loch Ness several times a day. We can't guarantee you'll see Nessie (she's a shy one!), but we can promise spectacular views, opportunities for canoeing and kayaking, swimming and fishing. Loch Ness is 23 miles long with an 80-mile circumference for walking, cycling, picnicking and finding a secluded spot to lie back and appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of this magical landscape.
Other places to see are Abriachan Forest in the north and Farigaig Forest and Plodda Falls, both on the north side of Loch Ness. Incorporate both Divach Falls and the viewpoint at Craigmonie in one walk, or head south to The Falls of Foyers and Farigaig Forest. You can also visit the nearby lochs of Mullardoch, Duntelchaig, Torr a Tuill, Bran, and Tarff. Local attractions include Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness, plus all of the fantastic attractions, shops and eateries in Inverness.
Parkside Cottage is one of two superb Loch Ness holiday rentals by Dochgarrock Lock that are expertly managed by the owner and offered for bookings all year round.
