Loch Awe Lodges are part of the Portsonachan Hotel - a superb venue with a mix of accommodation to suit groups of all sizes. Their traditional three-bedroom premium timber lodges sleep six people. They are perfect for families or friends, boasting rustic charm with all mod-cons and the promise of a comfortable stay including a hot tub and sauna. The West Highland location is as impressive as the high standard of accommodation. You can stay close to the banks of beautiful Loch Awe, enjoying acres of pristine grounds and easy access to seasonal trout fishing, historic sites like the Kilmartin Stones, and scenic walks and bike rides. The bar and restaurant of the Portsonachan Hotel are within strolling distance for nights you feel like being sociable and don't want to cook.
Portsonachan has spectacular views and is the ideal place to escape from the real world, leaving stress and worry at the border and sinking into the beauty of the natural surroundings. Spend happy days fishing, sailing, wild-swimming, paddleboarding, and playing golf, returning to your lodge to soak under the stars in the outdoor hot tub and steam tired muscles in your cabin's private sauna.
Choosing to stay in a premium Loch Awe Lodge lets you be as active as you please or as lazy as you like. Spend hours hiking or mountain biking along Highland trails, or pack a picnic and find a quiet spot (you won't have to look hard!) for a sunny afternoon snooze. The scale of the landscape is staggering. It's inspired artists and writers and provided the backdrop to film scenes in Game of Thrones, James Bond, and Harry Potter. Day trips can include bird watching at the Taynish National Nature Reserve, trying not to disturb the fairies at Puck's Glen, marvelling at the age and quality of the Kilmartin Stones, and hiring a boat to discover the secrets of Loch Awe. Admire the view as you cross the Connel Bridge to Oban, scale the peaks of Beinn Cruachan, and see how previous generations lived at the Auchindrain Open Air Museum.
Loch Awe Lodges are blissfully comfortable in all seasons and can be booked together to accommodate extended families or groups of friends. Please see the owner's website for more details.
