Kincurdie Cottage is a stunning crofters cottage sitting in a tranquil spot on a private estate close to the ancient village of Rosemarkie. With the beach on your doorstep, the Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club half a mile down the road and the pub just a five minute stroll from the cottage, it is easy to enjoy the peace and quiet yet be close enough to all the amenities of the village. Kincurdie Cottage sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms, with room for two more on the double sofa bed (for an additional supplement), making it the ideal self-catering base for families or friends.
Located on the Moray Firth, the sandy beach at Rosemarkie is a delight at any time of the year. Enjoy bucket and spade days on the beach, brace yourself for a refreshing dip or explore the rockpools. Alternatively, keep your eyes peeled for bottlenose dolphins as you enjoy a walk up to the lighthouse, or simply admire the stunning views towards Fort George. The popular café is a great spot to grab an ice cream or treat yourself to lunch. For a change of scene head up to the Fairy Glen which is particularly spectacular after it has been raining.
There is plenty to keep everyone entertained whilst staying at Kincurdie Cottage. The fascinating site of the Battle of Culloden is just half an hour away, or enjoy some retail therapy in the city of Inverness where you will also find galleries, castles and plenty of places to eat and drink. Cromarty is eight miles north of Rosemarkie. You'll feel as if you've stepped back in time as you walk along narrow lanes lined with remarkably well-preserved houses which date from the 1700s and were certainly built to last. Whilst visiting Cromarty, make time to visit to The Black Isle and Hugh Miller Museum. You can also catch the Ferry of Nigg (seasonal) and explore the North Coast 500 route.
The landscape around Ross and Cromarty is some of the finest in the entire Highlands. In addition to walking and cycling, guests enjoy it through horse riding, playing golf, sailing or taking a sightseeing cruise, and fishing. There are also fabulous opportunities for foodies with fantastic local places to eat with notable chefs creating dishes from the finest of local ingredients like Sutors, IV10, Crofters and Chanterelle. For those wishing to travel further afield, the Cairngorms, Ben Wyvis and Aviemore with its ski-slopes are within an hours drive. There's an attraction or activity for every weather so, while you may be relaxed, you'll never be bored.
