Fern Cottage - Nr Struy, Beauly, Inverness, Highland, Scotland - Sleeps 2

Fern Cottage

Fern Cottage sleeps two guests and is one of two delightful holiday cottages situated above the River Beauly in an elevated position near Struy in the Scottish Highlands. These woodland holiday cottages provide idyllic retreats set amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in the Highlands.

In an enviable position, the cottages nestle amongst three of the most picturesque Scottish Glens – Glen Cannich, Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar – A wild and remote part of Scotland which is still within easy reach of Inverness (twenty five minute drive), the capital of the Highlands. Whilst being remote, it also has the Cnoc Hotel and the Struy Inn within walking distance of the cottages and a good choice of eating establishments within a short drive.

Both cottages are self-contained and are sixty metres apart. They are set within four acres of grounds comprising of gardens and woodland bordered by a small burn. Once you have arrived you can either relax and escape amongst this tranquil magical setting or use the cottage as a base from which to explore the Highland wilderness and visit the well known attractions of the area including Loch Ness.

Other attractions include the market town of Dingwall with its long history (thirty minutes drive) and the historic town of Beauly (fifteen minutes) which offers a good range of traditional shops and several historic sites. The Glen Affric National Nature Reserve is also just fifteen minutes from the cottages and is a magical place to visit with its sparkling lochs, native pinewoods and mysterious moorland.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of activities to enjoy from sedate fishing to adventurous hill trekking. Alternatively, bring your bike and explore the fantastic choice of routes and trails throughout the area or try pony trekking and discover the beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife on horseback.

So whether you want to escape the pressures of everyday life, are keen to explore the Highlands, enjoy outdoor activities or are simply looking for a romantic break, this is an ideal place for a holiday.
