Banchor Cottage sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms (one on the ground floor) and enjoys a tranquil waterside setting sitting above the River Findhorn in the picturesque Findhorn Valley in the rural county of Nairn in the Scottish Highlands.
The perfect place to get away from it all, Banchor Cottage is nicely presented throughout and a popular retreat with families and friends, particularly those with a passion for fishing, hill walking, hiking and exploring.
With three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen well equipped for self-catering and lovely dining room where you can enjoy supper in front of an open fire, Banchor Cottage provides all the right ingredients to relax and unwind at any time of the year. There is also an open fire in the welcoming sitting room providing the perfect place to retire after a meal with a wee dram!
Located on the Cawdor Castle Estate, the cottage is surrounded by beautiful scenery and looks over the Banchor Beat, a beautiful stretch of river owned by Cawdor Castle (often referred to as the Laird's Beat). The salmon fishing on this stretch of river attracts fishermen from far and wide and fishing can be arranged with the owner when in season. Cycling and walking are also popular past times with the Drynachan Valley providing a stunning backdrop and a haven for wildlife with pheasants, partridges and deer often seen from the cottage.
Cawdor Castle dates back to the 14th Century and is actually nine miles from the cottage. Here you will find a nine hole golf course for those who fancy a game and stunning gardens which are a must to visit. Explore the Big Woods at Cawdor Castle, browse the gift and wool shops for your Highland goodies or enjoy afternoon tea in the cafe.
For those happy to venture further afield, the Cairngorms National Park is within easy driving distance, the ancient fishing town of Nairn with its golden beaches and bustling harbour is fourteen miles, Inverness city centre is twenty four miles and Aviemore is only half an hour offering a host of outdoor activities (including winter sports such as skiing and boarding).
