Yarlington Dairy is in a fantastic spot for a walking and cycling holiday. The holiday cottage is on Penylan Farm in Hereford's gorgeous Golden Valley on the Welsh/English border with easy access to the Black Mountains and the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Couples love it for its stunning location, spectacular views, and luxurious extras like a log burner and a deep rolltop bath. It's one of two fantastic self-catering properties on Penylan Farm, where the owners make their award-winning Tw Gwyn Cider. Holiday bookings are available all year round.
Penylan Farm is in the small Herefordshire village of Pontrilas, a stone's throw from the Welsh border. This region is famous for the quality of its food and drink, evident at the busy farmers' markets and the annual food festivals in late summer and early autumn. An added benefit of staying here is the cider bar and shop - you don't have to leave the grounds to enjoy a pint of cider or perry. If wine is more your thing, there are six vineyards within half an hour's drive, with cellar doors that make it simple to stock up. The cottage is only 11 miles from Abergavenny's markets, supermarkets, butchers and delis, and 17 miles from Crickhowell's proudly independent High Street. Hereford is 12 miles away with even more choices of places to eat, drink and shop.
You'll certainly earn your appetite when you stay at Yarlington Dairy. It's heaven for walking, cycling and mountain biking, with a bit of horse riding, gorge walking, and kayaking for good measure. The trails to the Sugarloaf and Table Mountain peak are always popular, and you're around an hour's drive from the base of Pen-y-Fan, which is the highest peak in South Wales. Walks don't need to involve a mountain to be spectacular. The Three Castles Walk takes in Grosmont, Skenfrith and White Castles, and there are miles of scenic footpath beside the River Wye and through the Wye Valley.
This part of the world is wonderfully picturesque, with no season more attractive than another. Yarlington Dairy welcomes guests all year round.
