The Old Barn is one of two luxurious cottages in the idyllic courtyard of the owner’s Grade II listed 15th century black and white farmhouse. They have been recently converted from farm buildings and are available all year round for a full week, weekend or mid week break. The cottages are warm and spacious and retain many lovely original features, including original doors and exposed beams.
Positioned on the owner’s fourteen acre small holding where they keep a variety of rare breed animals, visitors are welcome to assist in the feeding of the animals at pre-arranged times. Children are always welcome and will enjoy the smallholding and meeting the animals.
The smallholding lies in beautiful North Herefordshire countryside, close to the Welsh Marches, Offa's Dyke and the Brecon Beacons. The area provides easy access to excellent walking and cycling, as well as opportunities to explore pretty Herefordshire villages, sample local Herefordshire food and enjoy the local history, culture and arts. There are many attractions and places of interest to enjoy and plenty of outdoor activities to participate in with golf, horse riding, canoeing, fishing and even Go-Karting all available locally.
The cottages are eight miles from Hay on Wye, which is internationally famous for its annual literary festival and second-hand bookshops. Ludlow is also close by and is a Mecca for antique lovers and foodies alike. Hereford is also only fourteen miles away.
The Old Barn is particularly spacious and sleeps six guests in great comfort. One dog can be accommodated by prior arrangement. The Old Barn can be booked together with the Granary to provide accommodation for two groups of up to ten guests: the large sitting room in the Old Barn has a dining table that can easily accommodate eight guests. Flexible bookings are offered and short breaks for weekends and midweek stays are welcome.
