Lowe Farmhouse is enormous! Not only does the traditional farmhouse have 10 spacious bedrooms that can sleep up 24 guests - but it sits on a family-run farm within 230-acres of glorious Herefordshire countryside. The house is extremely well set up to accommodate groups of extended families and friends and is ideal for everything from getting the cousins together for an annual catch-up to laughing with your friends on your hen weekend. The village of Much Dewchurch and the 14th-Century Black Swan are a ten-minute walk away, so even though the house feels (and is) rural and peaceful, it is not isolated.
Herefordshire is a wonderful holiday destination at any time of the year. Easily accessible from the south, the Midlands and Wales, it appeals to everyone whether they visit for the landscape, history and culture, food or shopping. Being close to the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean means there is a wide variety of walking and cycling routes to suit every ability, including around the nearby market town of Ross-on-Wye where visitors will also find a good choice of places to eat, drink and shop as well as supermarkets and a twice-weekly market held every Thursday and Saturday.
The historic city of Hereford is a short drive from Lowe Farmhouse, with its cathedral being home to the treasured Mappa Mundi as well as a rare chained library and a reputable choir. Within an hour's drive are Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye, Ledbury, Monmouth, Chepstow, Abergavenny and Gloucester, each with a unique character and history that appeals to visitors. The beautiful Elan Valley is also close enough to explore on a day out.
Closer to home, guests at Lowe Farmhouse can try their hand at mountain biking, gorge walking, fishing, kayaking and golf. They can visit The Waterworks Museum, Dunkertons Cider Mill or Westons Cider Mill, Dore Abbey, White Castle and Skenfrith Castle. The neighbouring farm also offers a variety of activities including paint balling and clay pigeon shooting. With meadows, nature reserves, rivers and forests, Herefordshire has something for everyone.
