The Cider Shack is a stylish glamping pod on a family-run Penylan Farm in Herefordshire's Golden Triangle. It's been featured on the BBC's "My Unique B&B" and features a private outdoor bath, fantastic views, and an on-site cider bar. If you love beautiful scenery, stunning walks, and excellent food, you'll love this charming holiday home which is ideal for a couple or an individual who wants a retreat that's peaceful without being isolated. The owners of Penylan Farm also run award-winning Ty Gwyn Cider and have packed an enormous amount of comfort into a small space, with The Cider Shack featuring a mezzanine double bed, seating, kitchenette, and a wood-burning stove.
Penylan Farm is just over the English side of the Herefordshire/Monmouthshire border, with far-reaching views of the Skirrid, Sugarloaf and Black Mountains. If you love walking for miles, then this is the place for you! The Brecon Beacons National Park and magnificent Wye Valley are both within easy reach, offering extensive footpaths, cycling routes, mountain bike trails, and many more ways to enjoy being outdoors in the incredible landscape. Horseriding, golf, canoeing, kayaking, wild swimming, and gorge walking are also readily accessible, as are sailing, archery and quad biking.
You can still have a fantastic holiday even if you're not the outdoorsy type. The Cider Shack is 12 miles from the lovely city of Hereford, known for its gorgeous cathedral, which houses a rare copy of the Mappa Mundi and has one of the oldest chained libraries in Europe. Hereford has a great mix of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as familiar names you'll recognise from most high streets and a cinema. 11 miles in the other direction is the buzzing market town of Abergavenny. There's something on in the Market Hall almost every day, a beautiful church and a medieval tithe barn, a pedestrianised shopping area, and excellent independent shops and cafes. Other places to visit include Brecon, Monmouth and Hay-on-Wye, and there are over a dozen castles within half an hour's drive.
The Cider Shack is welcoming in all seasons and holiday bookings are available all year round.
