Waterfront Quay is a superb second floor holiday apartment by Gosport Harbour, boasting breathtaking views over the water to Spinnaker Tower and Portsmouth's historic harbour. The location is perfect for couples, families or friends who want a stress-free holiday with easy access to shops, cafes and pubs, as well as a wide choice of sights and attractions. There are two bedrooms to sleep four people, plus a comfortable sofa bed that can sleep two guests if more space is required.
Gosport is ideal for a holiday in any season. Its history as a defensive naval site is evident as you walk along the two-mile Waterfront Trail, passing Forts Blockhouse, Monckton and Gilkicker. Discover more about the town's contribution to the fight of the British navy during Georgian and Victorian times at Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower. HMS Alliance and the Royal Navy Submarine Museum showcase its more recent history, as does the Hovercraft Museum and the Gosport Diving Museum. If these excellent venues don't quench your thirst then a short ferry ride will take you to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard where you can see HMS Victory - the ship from where Nelson defeated Napoleon and died in the process, and the Tudor Mary Rose.
Hampshire's coast stretches for more than 200 miles with a wealth of beaches and coastal walks. Admire the views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight, spend a day sunbathing at beaches like Lee-on-the-Solent, Stokes Bay and Browndown Point, or make full use of Gosport's excellent opportunities for sailing, jet-skiing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Alternatively, hire a bike to use on a network of quiet cycling tracks. The countryside in Hampshire is as appealing as the coast. Alver Valley Country Park is only a short drive from Waterfront Quay, while the magnificent New Forest National Park is less than an hour away. The ancient landscape was once a private hunting ground for royalty but is now a natural playground with towering trees, pretty villages with thatched cottages and free-roaming ponies, and an array of excellent country pubs.
Days out can include a ferry crossing from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight, wandering around the cathedral city of Winchester, shopping in Southampton, admiring the impressive collection at the National Motor Museum, or all the excitement of Paulton Park and Peppa Pig World. Staying at Waterfront Quay means you're within easy reach of everything.
