The Cabin is a relaxing oak framed holiday home for couples, friends or family in the residential village of Hill Head. It's a modern lodge and feels beautifully light and fresh, exactly what you'd hope for somewhere this close to the Hampshire coast. Hill Head Beach is only a few minutes walk from the door, as is a cafe, village shop, takeaway, and the seafront Osborne View pub with fantastic views over the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. Although the open-plan layout can be described as a studio, space is far from limited with large living and sleeping areas, high-spec kitchen, separate utility room, and luxurious shower room. The Cabin also has a big enclosed garden with a deck, lawn, space to hire a hot tub, and a six-person dining table/games table to keep you amused when not dining.
Hill Head is a quiet village with big appeal. The beach is lined with pretty beach huts and is a popular spot for windsurfing, sailing, kitesurfing and fishing. There's a path for walking or cycling around to Lee-on-the-Solent, with other scenic routes leading to Brownwich Cliff Beach and across fields to Thatcher's Copse. Gosport and Stokes Bay Beach are only a 10-minute drive away if you want a change of scene. Gosport has an impressive naval history with museums and a beautiful riverfront walk with views of Portsmouth Harbour. It's a mere four-minute ferry crossing from Gosport to Gunwharf Quays, where you'll find designer shops, the Spinnaker Tower, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Stroll around to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, where King Henry's Mary Rose is moored with Nelson's HMS Victory and Queen Victoria's HMS Warrior.
You can take a passenger or car ferry from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight, spending a happy day touring the picturesque island. The New Forest National Park is also within easy reach, with miles of spectacular walks and bike rides, charming villages and lovely beaches. New Forest attractions include the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu House and Bucklers Hard. Southampton is also close for a day's shopping and sightseeing.
The Cabin welcomes guests all year round with short breaks (minimum of five nights) possible depending on availability.
