Cambrian House was built for families to spend time together and it's as perfect today as ever. The Victorian property is in Gosport on the Hampshire coast. It provides a high standard of accommodation for up to 10 guests in four bedrooms, with the potential to sleep three more people on John Lewis bed-chairs and a sofa bed if necessary. The house is on a residential street that is within walking distance of shops, cafes and pubs like the friendly Windsor Castle. It's also close to the Gosport Ferry to make it easy to get to Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays.
Gosport has an impressive naval heritage which is evident at places like Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower and the Royal Navy Submarine Museum. Both venues overlook Portsmouth Harbour and are linked by the two-mile Gosport Waterfront Trail which passes other local places of interest like Fort Blockhouse, Haslar Bridge, the Falkland Gardens, Royal Clarence Yard, and Priddy's Hard Heritage Area.
Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent combine to offer 24 miles of beautiful coastline with beaches that include Hill Head Beach, Stokes Bay, and Browndown Point. The region is a favourite not only with those who enjoy sailing but also for windsurfing, kiteboarding, jet-skiing, paddle-boarding, kayaking and fishing. Equipment hire and lessons are available locally for those who need it, and there is a public slipway less than half a mile from the cottage for guests who have a boat and trailer.
Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays are only a short ferry ride away, providing plenty of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife, as well as attractions such as Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the Spinnaker Tower, and the Mary Rose Museum. Southampton and Winchester are both less than an hour's drive, with more choice of things to see and do. Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World are also within easy reach.
Cambrian House is perfect for large families, extended families or friends. It is available for short breaks and longer stays all year round.
