Tanyffordd is in Rhiw on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula with spectacular views over fields and farmland to Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia National Park. The holiday cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms and is set well back from the road behind a gated private driveway. It's spacious and detached - perfect for families who don't want to worry about being close to the neighbours and who like having room to spread out. Walking, mountain biking, cycling, and surfing are all readily accessible, making this a fantastic year-round holiday destination.
Rhiw is a small village with big views. It's best known for the National Trust property Plas Yn Rhiw - a historic manor house with lovely gardens. You can walk there from the cottage, enjoying the woodland and coastal scenery along the way. The entire Llyn Peninsula is a delight for walkers. It might be small, but the terrain is varied with coastal footpaths, hill climbs, woodland and moors. The cottage is only 25 miles from Snowdonia National Park, opening up access to more spectacular trails for walking, climbing and mountain biking.
The nearest beach from Tanyffordd is three miles away, and you're never far from the coast. The beaches on the south coast are more sheltered and good for swimming, while those on the north benefit from bigger swells that appeal to experienced surfers. You're spoiled for choice with beaches like the four-mile-long Porth Neigwl, sometimes called Hell's Mouth, Pwllheli and Abersoch within a few miles. The latter two beaches have a slipway for guests who bring a boat or a jet ski with them.
Pwllheli is the largest community on the Llyn Peninsula and the place to go for groceries and if you feel like a meal out. Every Wednesday and Sunday it has a weekly market where up to 50 stallholders sell locally produced food, drink, and other items. Abersoch also has a choice of takeaways and restaurants. Day trips from Tanyffordd can include sightseeing in Portmeirion and Porthmadog, climbing Snowdon, marvelling at the might of Caernarfon Castle, or taking a trip on a steam train to Ffestiniog.
