Hendy is a spacious self-catering holiday home in a quiet residential setting just outside Pwllheli on the breathtaking Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. It can accommodate up to six guests in three bedrooms and is ideal for families of all ages. In addition to ample room indoors, the semi-detached cottage has a spacious garden and views that extend over the countryside to Cardigan Bay.
Pwllheli is a friendly town around a mile and a half from the cottage, and it is possible to walk or cycle there if you prefer to leave the car behind. The jewel in the crown is the marina, and you can easily lose an hour or two sitting in the sunshine watching the boats come and go. There are lots of shops as well as a twice-weekly market (Wednesdays and Sundays in summer), three big supermarkets and a range of independent shops, pubs, cafes and a cinema.
The Llyn Peninsula borders the western edge of the Snowdonia National Park and juts out into the sea, separating Tremadog Bay in the south from Caernarfon Bay in the north. Like much of the Welsh coastline, it is undeveloped and unspoiled, with uncrowded beaches. Pwllheli has two beaches, both of which have a Blue Flag award for the quality of the coast and water. Glan y Mor's sheltered sandy shore is near the marina, while South Beach is a long stretch of sand and shingle with a promenade and children's play area nearby. There is a coastal footpath which runs the entire length of the Llyn Peninsula and affords sensational views in every season.
As well as beautiful coast and countryside walks, Pwllheli has a golf course and lots of routes for cycling and mountain biking. Being small and relatively narrow means that it is easy to get around and explore places like Abersoch, Llanbedr, and Bardsey Island, and to make the most of the opportunities to surf, sail, fish or go coasteering. The owners of Hendy have created a welcoming space for families to relax and enjoy themselves.
