About Arallt Holiday Cottage

Arallt is on the spectacular Llyn Peninsula in West Wales, with incredible views that will have you waking up with glee at the prospect of another day in such beautiful surroundings. The period cottage is on a quiet lane opposite the owner's organic farm and sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Guests can enjoy spectacular walks and bike rides from the door and easy access to beaches on both the north and south coast. With the welcoming Tafarn y Fic pub a short two-minute stroll from the cottage, it's a perfect destination for your next holiday with family or friends.

The Llyn Peninsula is amazing. Jutting out of the Welsh coastline near Snowdonia National Park, the Peninsula looks amazing all year round. Not only is it beautiful, but its shape and size mean that nothing is very far away. Check out beaches like Llanbedrog, Pwllheli, and Nefyn. Trefor is about four miles north of the cottage and easy to walk or cycle if you feel like stretching your legs, or walk the six miles to Morfa Nefyn and work up an appetite for a pint at the award-winning Ty Coch beachfront pub or have a meal at Y Llong in Edern. There's a little bit of single track and miles of country lanes for cyclists to enjoy, with Snowdonia on the doorstep for those who crave a more dramatic challenge.

Attractions in the area include historic castles like those at Caernarfon and Criccieth and charming manor houses such as Penarth Fawr and Plas Yn Rhiw as well as National Trust properties like Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd. The highly decorative Italianate village of Portmeirion is just over half an hour's drive from the cottage, Zip World is around forty minutes, while the harbour town of Porthmadog is even closer. Take a ride on a heritage railway. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland routes' views are awe-inspiring or go exploring via the Cambrian Coast Line. Family-friendly attractions include Greenwood Family Park, the Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit Farm, and Pili Palas Nature World (pili palas being Welsh for "butterfly"). The region is renowned for the quality of its local produce that's widely available from farm shops and regular markets and celebrated at the annual Gwyl Fwyd Caernarfon Food Festival.

Arallt is available all year round with short breaks (minimum of three nights) possible depending on availability.

Location (Gwynedd)

Accommodation Comprises:

Arallt is a period cottage with accommodation over two levels and a traditional layout.

Downstairs:

  • Hardwood floors, a stone fireplace with a wood burner, and deep sofas make the sitting room a very comfortable place where you can relax with a book or in front of the TV. The window provides panoramic views over the peninsula to the sea of Cardigan Bay. The Freesat TV has Google Chromecast and a DVD player, and the owners have also provided a range of books and board games.
  • Kitchen where guests will find a welcome basket stuffed with local goodies - many from the owner's organic farm - milk, tea and coffee. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking family meals.
  • Separate cosy dining room with a table seating six people. A highchair is available.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC, heated towel rail and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a king-size bed dressed with organic cotton bed linen, bedside tables with reading lights, and ample storage. There's a sunny window seat where you can sit and gaze over the countryside towards the ocean.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds separated by a nightstand with a reading light.
  • Bunk room with adult-sized bunk beds and proper storage. The low ceiling in this room makes it unsuitable for adults, especially the top bunk.

Outside: The garden has a lockable shed to securely store bikes and canoes and a hose for rinsing them off. The bench in the front is a gorgeous spot to sit with your morning cup of tea and enjoy the panoramic views of the sunrise. The cottage has off-street parking for 1 car.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and a welcome pack are all provided. A travel cot (no bedding) and high chair are available. Guests to bring beach towels if they are required. Short breaks (minimum three nights) are possible, depending on availability. The owner regrets they cannot accommodate pets. Smoking is not permitted.
