This stunning barn conversion has been planned with accessibility in mind. It sits in an idyllic spot in its own gardens with wonderful views over Welsh mountains and the forest. It is close to the market town of Coleford in Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley towns of Ross and Monmouth. The traditional stone barn has been renovated to a high standard to include modern day luxuries including underfloor heating, ensuite bedrooms with wall mounted TVs and a stunning open plan kitchen, dining and living area. There is a down stairs bedroom with a wheelchair friendly wet room, and additional features such as wide access doors, a wheelchair accessible fire escape, emergency call system, a glide and slide oven door and an adapted low work surface. The Lodge at Hilltop Cottage sleeps up to five guests in two bedrooms with a comfortable sofa bed in the living room.
The Lodge is a haven for wildlife lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy fantastic walks and bike rides from the front door as you explore the local forest tracks, surrounding farmland and quaint rural villages. Keep your eyes peeled for deer, roebuck, wild boar, rabbits, squirrels and a huge variety of wild birds. Ornithologists should visit the RSPB reserves at Nagshead and Highnam Woods or enjoy a day out at the Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve just half an hour away on the Severn Estuary. Mountain bikers will love the fantastic biking trails in the Forest of Dean whilst water lovers can hire a canoe or paddleboard on the River Wye. Other fun days out include a trip to Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, visiting the ancient woodlands at Puzzlewood or exploring the fascinating caverns at Clearwell Caves.
The small market town of Coleford, just three miles away, is the ideal spot to stock up on provisions, or enjoy a night off cooking and dine out in one of the many pubs and restaurants. The towns of Monmouth and Ross on Wye are also within easy reach as are many castles, abbeys and museums. There really is something for everyone to do in this scenic corner of the country, although you would also be forgiven for simply kicking back and relaxing in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Outside: Patio with a BBQ and garden furniture. The private garden has stunning views of the Welsh Black Mountains and the Forest of Dean. There is off street parking and a fully accessible private drive with wheelchair access into the property.
Additional information: Utilities, high speed internet, bed linen and towels are included. The Lodge is fully adapted for wheelchair users and the owners have a M3A disability rating. Dogs are welcome on request, please contact the owners. Smoking inside is not permitted (but guests are welcome to smoke in the grounds).
