About Weir Bungalow

Weir Bungalow sleeps two guests in a double bedroom and is well placed close to the Heritage coastline within the Exmoor National Park near to the coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. Affording a peaceful tranquil position in the Devonshire village of Brendon, Weir Bungalow is an ideal retreat for couples (and singles) at any time of the year and is perfect for those who want to explore the areas many attractions by foot or by car.

The bungalow affords a lovely waterside position overlooking the East Lyn River with views of the river from most of the rooms and balcony. A haven for wildlife, the area offers excellent opportunities for walking, horse riding, cycling and fishing, along with having much to offer wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Brendon nestles in the East Lyn Valley between the coastal village of Lynmouth in Devon and Oare at the heart of Lorna Doone country in Somerset. There are plenty of nice places to eat within the area including the Staghunters Inn which is a short stroll from the bungalow serving local ale and good food, and also the Rockford Inn (just over a mile away) which also serves food.

Well placed for touring both Somerset and North Devon (including beautiful Exmoor), there are plenty of attractions to visit within easy driving distance, with wonderful scenery en-route. Visit nearby popular Lynton and Lynmouth where you will find a good range of shops, beaches and places to eat - both connected by the cliff railway. The beautiful medieval Somerset village of Dunster with its impressive castle is also nearby, as is the pretty coastal village of Porlock and also Tarr Steps, a stunning nature reserve with historic clapper bridge providing lovely wooded walks.

Just two and a half miles from the bungalow (a lovely riverside walk) is the National Trust property of Watersmeet with two thousand acres of grounds to explore and an impressive river gorge, along with tea gardens for refreshments afterwards. The picturesque Doone Valley with its abundance of walks and the heather-clad wild moors with its pretty wooded glades and coastal villages of Exmoor are just waiting to be explored and all nearby to Weir Bungalow.
