Offering single level self-catering accommodation, The Stable sleeps four guests (unfortunately no children) in two double en-suite bedrooms and provides everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday on the Dorset coast.
Ideally located and surrounded by SSSI's and a DWT Nature Reserve, Lulworth Cove (including world famous Durdle Door) is the closest beach and only three miles away, providing the perfect place to enjoy lazy days by the sea on one of the most photographed stretches of the UK's Jurassic coastline.
There are plenty of other lovely quiet beaches with golden sands and rock pools within easy reach by car of the cottage, as well as the busier seaside resorts of Poole and Weymouth offering a multitude of attractions.
The nearby village of Wool is just three miles from The Stable where you will find a railway station, shops, eating establishments and the coastal bus which runs between Exeter and Poole. Winfrith Newburgh is the closest village and just half a mile from the cottage. Sitting in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Purbecks, the village has a store for stocking up on emergency provisions and also a pub serving food.
The historic county town of Dorchester (with its connections to Thomas Hardy) is eight miles away and offers a great choice of shops and places for a meal out. Wareham, sitting on the River Frome is equally as close, or travel a little further to Weymouth with its golden beaches, Bournemouth and Poole (all under half an hour by car). Slightly further afield but still within easy reach are Salisbury with its stunning cathedral, the ancient market town of Shaftesbury with its independent shops and restaurants, the riverside market town of Sherborne and Yeovil - all an hour away by car.
With one of the country's most iconic stretches of coast close by, and a multitude of attractions within easy driving distance, The Stable is perfect for those who want to explore Dorset or simply stay put and make the most of the stunning scenery, beaches and lovely walks from the front door.
