Lyme Regis is a five-minute drive from the cottage. It's an area with a broad appeal. Gourmands come here for the succulent oysters, fresh fish, and the opportunity to visit the River Cottage Kitchen for its delicious local menu and extensive choice of cookery classes. Instead of impersonal supermarkets, discover the delights of the Lyme Bay Winery and excellent farm shops where you can choose ingredients to cook in the cottage's well-equipped kitchen. Walkers and cyclists appreciate the mix of coast and countryside with miles of footpaths and trails for easy exploration.
The Retreat is so peaceful yet wonderfully convenient for beaches and attractions. You can spend day trips making the most of the spectacular beaches and enjoy swimming, surfing, paddleboarding and sunbathing only a few miles from the door. Walk along the South West Coast Path, go fossilling for fossils with an expert or see them in situ at the Undercliffs National Nature Reserve. Local attractions include the medieval monastery and gardens at Forde Abbey, the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, and Axe Valley Bird and Animal Park. The Retreat is a purpose-built holiday cottage beautifully finished and furnished with couples in mind. Accommodation is all on one level.
Outside: The landscaped garden overlooks fields and a bluebell copse and has a pagoda-covered hot tub and a patio with outdoor seating. There is allocated parking with an EV charging point.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and bathrobes are all included. Smoking is not permitted. Short breaks and seasonal week stays are possible, depending on availability.
