The Old Coach House is on the Sheplegh Court estate in the beautiful South Hams region of Devon. Set among gorgeous gardens, woods and parkland, this luxurious holiday cottage comes with onsite amenities that include an all-weather tennis court, heated indoor and outdoor pool and a snooker/games room. The two-bedroom/two-bathroom layout sleeps four people and works well as a holiday home for couples, families or friends. Despite this sense of splendid isolation, the cottage is only a mile from The George Inn and Blackawton village shop and within easy reach of Dartmouth and award-winning beaches that make Devon one of Britain's favourite holiday destinations.
Sheplegh Court has been a part of the landscape for over a century, sitting peacefully within its 22 private acres of grounds. It's blissfully peaceful and remarkably intimate and welcoming, despite its size and grandeur. The local area is packed with fantastic sights and attractions that appeal to visitors in every season. As it's right on the edge of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can access hundreds of miles of footpaths, including ancient holloways and the spectacular South West Coast Path. Dartmoor is within half an hour's drive of the cottage, giving you even more choices of places to walk, mountain bike, horse ride, and climb.
Staying at The Old Coach House means you can mix days at the seaside with shopping and dining out. Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Plymouth are all perfect for browsing boutiques and homeware stores followed by a delicious meal at an upmarket brasserie or restaurant. Alternate with days swimming, surfing, paddleboarding and sunning yourself on breathtaking beaches like Blackpool Sands, Bantham, Sugary Cove, Hope Cove and Slapton Sands. Many local attractions include Dartmouth Rail River, Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Family Theme Park, Pennywell Farm, the model village in Torquay, Bayards Cove Fort, and Becky Falls. Golf, fishing and sailing are also readily accessible all year round.
Guests of The Old Coach House love that it is grand and impressive while still feeling like a welcoming home-away-from-home. It's a rare opportunity to stay in a private apartment in a beautiful country house.
