Set over three floors with space for four people to sleep in two bedrooms, the newly refurbished apartment features high-quality furnishings, a private terrace and allocated parking. It is ideal for a summer family holiday by the seaside. It is equally welcoming for a romantic winter escape with cosy pub lunches by the fireside and long walks along a windswept coastal footpath. Shaldon's sandy beach is just a two-minute walk from the property, and you're even closer to the friendly Shipwright Arms pub, cafes, shops and other amenities.
Shaldon is a beautiful place for a holiday. The charming village grew up around the spot where the River Teign flows into the Bristol Channel, giving you loads of options for swimming, sailing, SCUBA diving, windsurfing, canoeing and paddleboarding. The river and coastline have lots of little coves once popular with smugglers for unloading cargo, including the tunnel that takes you to Ness Beach, less than a mile from your holiday apartment. Shaldon has hosted an exciting sailing regatta for the last 200 years, taking place over the late August bank holiday weekend. However, you only need to take the passenger ferry - Britain's oldest active service - to Teignmouth to appreciate the pleasure of being on the water.
Looking away from the coast, you'll come across beautiful Devon countryside with fields and farmland producing a richness of dairy food unlike anywhere else in the South West. A walk or cycle is an excellent way to build an appetite for a scone with decadent clotted cream topped with jam made from local strawberries. Between the South West Coast Path and Dartmoor National Park, there are many footpaths, cycling routes and mountain bike trails to put any extra calories to good use!
Local attractions are plentiful and include Shaldon Castle and Botanical Gardens, the Shaldon Wildlife Trust, Paignton Zoo, and the big wheel at Torquay. Children love Dinosaur World, while adults can enjoy visiting places like Agatha Christie's house and Torre Abbey. The Babbacombe Cliff Railway is fun for all ages, and Kents Cavern is a favourite choice on a rainy day. Staying at The Admiral's Suite puts you close to the best the English Riviera has to offer.

The Admiral's Suite is described as an apartment but it's as large as some holiday houses, if not bigger! The accommodation is part of a Grade-II listed Georgian townhouse.

Outside: A private patio garden is ideal for lazy barbecues and enjoying a sundowner at the end of a long day of fun. You can load and unload baggage outside the front door and there is allocated parking a 3-minute walk from the apartment.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A travel cot and a high chair are available on request. Sorry but no dogs. Smoking is not permitted.
