Sitting within five acres of grounds surrounded by beautiful North Devon countryside, Yapham Coastal Cottages offer a choice of three dog-friendly self-catering properties well suited for couples, families and friends. Affording an enviable position equidistant from Bude and Westward Ho!, the cottages are located on the picturesque Hartland Peninsula, peppered with glorious sandy beaches, hidden coves away from the crowds and surfing hotspots made popular by the Atlantic rollers.
Nicely tucked away along a private drive (half a kilometre long) within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the setting of the cottages is secluded and offers all the right ingredients for a relaxing holiday where peace and tranquillity abound. The area is a paradise for walkers with the South West Coastal Path passing through Hartland, allowing you to enjoy some of the finest seascapes in the South West as you explore the cliffs between Westward Ho! in one direction and Bude in the other. There are also good opportunities for kayaking, surfing, fishing (including the use of a private lake along the lane) and horse riding.
For those looking for a beach holiday, you are spoilt with choice in the local area. Mouth Mill Cove is the nearest beach to Yapham (just a mile) but you also have the beautiful golden beach at Sandymouth just seven miles away, as well as Speke's Mill Mouth with its waterfall, Bucks Mill, Peppercombe and Harland Quay with its rock pools to name just a few.
There are an abundance of attractions easily accessible in both Devon and nearby Cornwall. Harland itself has shops and galleries to browse, Docton Mill Gardens and Tea Rooms, and Hartland Abbey with its glorious gardens. The ancient pretty Devonshire village of Clovelly is just ten minutes away by car or head to the bustling towns of Barnstaple and Bideford with a good range of shops to browse, cafes and pubs (half an hour by car).
The surfing mecca of Bude is also thirty minutes away by car or for fun that will have the little ones talking for the whole holiday, visit The Big Sheep and the Milky Way theme parks. It is also possible to visit the vast outdoor playgrounds of both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, as well as the attractions of Dartington Crystal, the world famous Eden Project and Lundy Island which is accessible by boat and a haven for bird and marine life.
