You're close to sandy beaches, market towns, and favourite attractions without having your peace or view disturbed by busy roads or lots of people passing by the window.
Appledore is Devon in a way many tourists don't get to experience - relaxed and calm, with many residents employed by the shipyard where their families have worked for generations. Appledore is one of the region's oldest fishing villages and is a great place to get seafood fresh off the boat. The views and the quality act as a magnet for artists whose work is celebrated in arts festivals. Appledore also hosts an annual book festival and a fun summer sailing regatta. Learn about North Devon's rich history at the Maritime Museum and take a boat trip to see the beautiful coast from a different perspective. When you're finished exploring Appledore, jump on the seasonal ferry across the River Torridge to Instow for more shops, cafes, restaurants and a gorgeous sandy beach.
The North Devon coast is perfect for a holiday no matter what time of year you go. Facing the Atlantic Ocean means that the swell can get large and dramatic in winter, but it also means conditions are often perfect for surfing. There are calm beaches for swimming (Westward Ho! and Woolacombe are family favourites for the clean water and excellent amenities), sheltered coves, and breathtaking views from the South West Coast Path. North Devon attractions include The BIG Sheep, Exmoor Zoo, Clovelly Court Gardens, Hartland Abbey, and the Victorian pannier markets in Barnstaple for all your self-catering needs.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available. Guests will need to bring beach towels, cot bedding and dog towels if required. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. No smoking.
