Newton Cross House is a favourite holiday home for multi-generational families and friends. The large Georgian country house features generously proportioned rooms, beautifully landscaped grounds with a hot tub and a freshwater swimming pool, spectacular views, and luxurious touches throughout. There is space for 11 people to sleep in five bedrooms with fantastic self-catering facilities and accommodation spread over three levels. You can walk from the house to the Hunters Inn pub in Newton Tracey, while supermarkets, shops and the famous Victorian Pannier Markets are only six miles away in Barnstaple.
As you'd expect from the biggest town in North Devon, Barnstaple has excellent amenities. Its heritage as a prosperous port is seen in the elegance of Georgian and Victorian buildings. Local businesses thrive, including bars, clubs, and sports facilities that cater to locals and visitors alike. When it's sunny, head for the coast and beaches like Combe Martin, Hele Bay, Lee Bay, the sandy shores of Instow, and spectacular Tunnels beach with its tidal swimming pool. Also within easy reach are Westward Ho!, Barricaine, Saunton Sands, and Croyde. When you need to escape the summer heat or inclement weather, go ten-pin bowling or ice skating, play laser tag, or let the kids loose at soft play or trampolining. You can throw axes, hire bikes, and play tennis (though not simultaneously!)
North Devon attractions include Barnstaple Museum, Hartland Abbey, RHS Garden Rosemoor, and Exmoor Zoo. Walk along the South West Coast Path or hire a bike and explore Exmoor National Park, which is practically on your doorstep. The BIG Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park are popular with children, and a visit to Mill Farm Alpacas will leave a smile on everyone's face.
Newton Cross House is rural with the convenience of being close to beaches, towns, and popular attractions. It is somewhere you can escape with family and friends, relaxing in privacy and enjoying the peace of the spacious house and extensive gardens, or throw yourself into the excitement of seeing and doing as much as possible in the time you have.
