About The Tallet

The Tallet is a lovely house situated within Accott Manor in the quiet hamlet of Gunn near Barnstaple. Located just a stone’s throw away from Exmoor National Park and the stunning North Devon coastline, you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Accommodation is over two floors with five bedrooms sleeping ten guests, making it perfect for families or friends. Enjoy lazy evenings dining alfresco on the patio, relax in the hot tub with a glass of fizz, or snuggle up on the comfortable sofas next to the wood burning stove.

The market town of Barnstaple, just a ten minute drive away, has a fantastic selection of places to eat, drink and shop as well as a traditional Pannier Market, a leisure centre and a cinema. For those who want to explore the surrounding area, the Tarka Trail, a mainly traffic free route that follows a disused railway line, runs through the town. Popular with both walkers and cyclists of all ages, and passing through pretty countryside, ancient villages and meandering along river banks, this trail is a delight in all seasons. If you are looking to get slightly more off the beaten track the rugged moorland in Exmoor National Park has an endless choice of footpaths, bridleways and mountain bike trails to explore.

For those who want to get their fill of sea air and sandy toes there are plenty of fantastic beaches to choose from. Woolacombe, Saunton, Westward Ho! and Croyde are all within half an hour’s drive of Lower Tallet. Join a surf school, go fishing, try your hand at stand up paddleboarding or simply enjoy a bucket and spade day on the beach followed by a fish and chip tea. There are plenty of smaller coves dotted around the coastline if you would prefer to escape the crowds, or lace up your walking boots and enjoy the fantastic coastal views from the South West Coast Path. Alternatively, enjoy a boat trip across the Bristol channel to Lundy Island, be wowed by the views from the Victorian cliff railway at Lynmouth and Lynton or explore the narrow winding streets and colourful houses in the charming fishing villages of Appledore and Instow.

The Tallet is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year and your four legged friend is welcome too.
