Each cottage is comfortably furnished and has a private garden where you can enjoy the views of the surrounding valley. There is an imaginative nature trail which guests can explore or simply sit back and watch the wildlife from the cottage front door. A true piece of heaven . . . peace and quiet in abundance!
Conveniently located, this ideal retreat allows easy access to the beautiful beaches and wonderful coastal walks including the South West Coastal Path from Dartmouth to Start Point Lighthouse.
Slapton village is just two miles from the cottages and offers two very good pubs serving local food. There is a beautiful freshwater lake at Slapton Ley where visitors can discover a wide range of wildlife and take nature safaris. A short walk from the village takes you to Slapton Sands award winning beach. Walk a little further to Torcross and you can sample the best fish and chips in the area at the local pub - well worth the walk!
The pretty sailing towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth have much to offer and are within easy reach, as are the vibrant market towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge. Guests also have the benefit of a temporary membership to Dartmouth Golf and Country Club which is just five miles from Dittiscombe and has nine and eighteen-hole golf courses, a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, gym and beauty treatments available (guests receive a 25% discount on the facilities).

All six stone holiday cottages are 4 Star rated by Visit England and sit at the end of a private lane, in the valley. Sympathetically renovated from farm buildings, each one has been individually decorated and furnished. With exposed beams, thick stone walls, feature fireplaces and solid flooring, the cottages provide a homely retreat at any time of the year.
Rafters, Dovecote and Buddleia are featured within this advert and each cottage sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms. Dovecote has a king-size bedroom and a single bedroom with extra pull-out single for children if required; Buddleia has a king and twin bedroom and Rafters has a double and twin bedroom. All three cottages welcome dogs and have twenty acres of woodland walks and meadows to explore.
Each cottage has everything you would expect for a cosy break with wood burning stove (except Rafters which has a flame-effect electric fire), comfortable seating, LCD television, DVD player, iPod docking, free Wi-Fi, electric cooker and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment (further freezer space is available in the Farmhouse) and there is a communal laundry room with standard washing machine and coin-operated tumble dryer.
Bathroom's have a bath with overhead shower (with the exception of Buddleia which just has a shower cubicle and no bath), WC and washbasin.
Outside: Each cottage has an individual private garden with lawns, flower and shrub borders, gravel patios with garden furniture and beautiful views over the surrounding valley. There is a Children’s play and picnic area for the smaller guests to enjoy and there is a communal car park.
Additional information: Short breaks available from November to March. A complimentary basket of logs is provided. Towels can be ordered in advance at an additional charge (free of charge for overseas visitors). Beds are made up for guests' arrival. A local company can be recommended for guided kayak tours - what better way to discover the beauty of the local estuaries and rivers. Cot and highchair available. Bike storage available.
