About Cornborough Coombe

Cornborough Coombe and Cornborough Cottage are two delightful holiday cottages that can accommodate parties of up to ten guests when hired together. When booking Cornborough Coombe (sleeps eight), Cornborough Cottage (sleeps two) will not be rented separately to ensure guests privacy and there will be no extra charge for the cottage should it be required for accommodating parties of ten guests.

This is an excellent setting for friends or families who want to enjoy a holiday or celebrate an occasion. Cornborough Cottage can also be rented separately to couples to provide a relaxing retreat, outside of school holidays and when Cornborough Coombe is not already booked. Under these circumstances, Cornborough Coombe will not be rented separately, so guests of Cornborough Cottage will have full use of the grounds without being interrupted by any other guests.

Both Cornborough Coombe and Cornborough Cottage are beautifully presented and are located very close to the North Devon coastline, making them perfect for enjoying a beach holiday or surfing. They sit in a wonderfully secluded position, amongst rolling countryside, between Westward Ho! and the small village of Abbotsham, providing an ideal base from which to explore North Devon with its many attractions.

Westward Ho! is just one mile away from the cottages and has a fantastic sandy Blue Flag Beach, pubs and cafes, along with great opportunities for those who enjoy outdoor activities including surfing, canoeing and kite surfing, along with good golfing opportunities at Royal Northam, the oldest seaside links course in England and Saunton Sands – a championship golf course across the bay. In the opposite direction is Abbotsham with its post office/village store and ancient 15th Century thatched pub. Abbotsham is just two miles from the market town of Bideford with its historic port, local markets (at the weekends), supermarkets, banks, shops, pubs and factory outlets at Atlantic Village. From Bideford you can also take a day trip to Lundy Island which is highly recommended.

The quaint quayside village of Appledore with its old fishermen's cottages, narrow streets, galleries and craft shops is within easy reach, as is the cobbled village of Clovelly with its ancient and beautiful harbour. Instow too has a beautiful sandy Blue Flag Beach and is located on the Tarka Trail which provides miles of hard surface cycling (and walking) with pubs along the way to gain refreshments!

For those who enjoy walking, Exmoor National Park is just a few miles away and provides plenty of great walks for all abilities across its breathtaking landscape, dotted with pretty villages. There are also many fantastic local walks to enjoy, including coastal walks where you can take in the cliffs and beaches of this dramatic coastline.

Devon has plenty of places to visit with something to suit all ages including: The Big Sheep; RHS Gardens Rosemoor; The Milky Way and Dartington Crystal to name just a few. There are also great pubs and restaurants where you can sample fantastic local produce and some of the best seafood you will taste!

Cornborough Coombe and Cornborough Cottage nestle within all but an acre of grounds with woods, lawned areas and gardens which are ideal for relaxing in with a good book or glass of wine (and also perfect for children to explore and play games).

Whether you want to explore the areas many attractions, enjoy a beach holiday or simply want a relaxing retreat, Cornborough Coombe and Cornborough Cottage are ideal for a holiday or short break.
