Bartridge Farm Cottage sleeps up to five guests in two bedrooms and is one of the few 'smaller' holiday homes in the country that offers guests the luxury of their very own indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub.
Nestling in a farm location amongst rolling North Devon countryside, Bartridge Farm Cottage sits in the depths of Tarka country and provides a welcoming beautifully presented retreat for families, friends and couples at any time of the year. There is plenty of space outside to relax and admire the beautiful views with lawn for sunbathing, spa bath for bubbling, picnic table for leisurely lunches (Gas BBQ provided) and plenty of room for the little ones to let off steam in the play area and paddock (including tree house!). For when its is more chilly, cosy nights can be enjoyed in front of the fire and the luxurious indoor pool which is heated to thirty one degrees (and enhanced by a sound system for listening to music, underwater lighting and a shower room with WC by the side of the pool) brightens up the dreariest of days. For those who need to keep in touch with the outside world, there is very good mobile phone reception and Wi-Fi internet access.
Amazing views can be enjoyed whilst swimming and the pool area is completely private and fully heated with dehumidifier to keep the atmosphere pleasant in the winter months. It is thirty foot by twelve foot with a depth of up to one and a half meters in places and available daily between 08:15 and 22:00. Sliding doors let the outside in and provide access onto the terrace with raised area for sun bathing, hot tub and BBQ.
Made famous by Henry Williamson (the author of Tarka the Otter) Tarka Country is a scenic tranquil oasis that is ideally placed for exploring Devon's many attractions including Exmoor National Park and the dramatic coastline with its pretty seaside villages, bustling towns and glorious sandy beaches.
Sitting in a peaceful position amongst rolling farmland, the cottage is located next to the owner's farmhouse on the slopes of the Taw Valley, a beautiful area which has been recognised as an 'area of great landscape value' with one of the country's few wild woodlands on the doorstep. The cottage is accessed via a scenic private lane that takes you alongside the River Taw where you can marvel at the panoramic views that span far and wide. A haven for wildlife, you will have the opportunity to see rabbits, badgers, foxes, bats and even notoriously shy kingfishers and deer if you are lucky, along with buzzards soaring up above.
For those who can tear themselves away from this tranquil oasis, the beaches on the north Devon coastline and the vast outdoor playground of Exmoor are only twenty minutes away by car providing great days out and plenty of attractions and activities.
Cleverly restored, this 17th Century barn conversion offers the perfect blend of original features mixed with modern day comforts and luxurious facilities to provide a welcoming retreat at any time of the year and a great base for exploring the areas many attractions.
