9 Shoreside is comfortable and convenient, fulfilling all your wishes for your self-catering holiday cottage in South Devon and possibly ticking a few more boxes you might not have considered. Let's start with the location on a quiet residential street in Shaldon, 300 metres from the beach and even closer to shops, cafes, takeaways, a bakery, and the waterfront Ferry Boat Inn and Shipwright Arms. You won't be sacrificing comfort for convenience. The new-build holiday home is in an award-winning development. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms with two bathrooms, is child and dog-friendly, and is well-equipped for couples and families. The single beds in the twin room can be linked into a superking-sized bed, so it's perfect for friends as well.

Shaldon is an excellent example of why the South Devon Coast is a beautiful holiday destination. It's at the mouth of the River Teign, just over the River from Teignmouth, with a sandy beach and a friendly community focused around the water. Once a humble fishing village, it lacks the commercial buzz of larger villages on the coast and has an unspoiled air of beauty and charm. There are near-endless ways to have fun when you stay at 9 Shoreside, especially if you enjoy being on or near the water. Sailing, rowing, paddleboarding, swimming, and kayaking are popular on the beach and the river. Walk to the beach through Smuggler's Tunnel, whose name is factual rather than fanciful. The South West Coast Path has incredible views, especially on the stretch between the village and Labrador Bay. Shaldon's zoo and crazy golf course are popular with children, while the week-long Shaldon Regatta in early August boasts over 120 events for non-stop fun.

Local attractions are many and varied, with something to appeal to all ages. Take the ferry across the river to Teignmouth or drive along the coast to the beautiful English Riviera and places like Paignton Zoo, Torre Abbey, Babbacombe Model Village, Torre Abbey, and Agatha Christie's Greenway house. Other choices include the Kent Prehistoric Caves, Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Haldon Forest and Go Ape. Dartmoor is ten miles away with more footpaths and mountain bike trails.

9 Shoreside is available all year round for holiday bookings. Guests appreciate how close it is to beaches, attractions and amenities while being peaceful and private with all amenities necessary for a relaxed and comfortable self-catering stay.

Accommodation Comprises:

9 Shoreside is a modern property in Shoreside Green, a quiet residential area with no through traffic. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Spacious and welcoming hallway with a door leading into the living area and a cloakroom with a WC and handbasin.
  • Lovely living/dining room furnished with comfortable seating, a 44-inch TV, and a dining table with four chairs. The window overlooks the green, and there's a coal effect gas fire for extra warmth in cold weather. Laminate floors are a practical feature for a beachside holiday, especially if you have young children and pets.
  • All the equipment and utensils you'll need for your self-catering holiday are in the fitted kitchen. Appliances include a double oven, built-in microwave, and a dishwasher.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom featuring a king-sized bed and storage. The ensuite has a shower, WC, heated towel rail, and a handbasin.
  • A second bedroom has two full-sized (3ft-wide) single beds or one superking sized bed.
  • There's an electric shower over the bath, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin in the family bathroom.

Outside: The enclosed garden features a patio with outdoor furniture for eating outdoors in good weather. There is off-street parking.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests to bring beach and dog towels if they are required. Well behaved pets are welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
