Wilson Cottage sleeps two guests and sits in a peaceful location within the Dartmoor National Park, close to the Devonshire village of Mary Tavy near Tavistock. Whilst you feel like you are away from it all, the cottage has easy access to the areas many attractions being just half a mile from the A386.
Ideal for those with a passion for walking, guests can enjoy glorious countryside and moorland walks, along with a host of other outdoor activities including golf, fishing and horse riding (a lovely way to explore Dartmoor!). There are also great opportunities for those who enjoy cycling (bike storage available) with the Granite Way and Drakes and Tarka Trails nearby, offering miles of traffic free cycling.
For those who fancy something a little more relaxing, there are pretty little villages to discover with welcoming country pubs where you can have a meal out and a real pint of ale, along with award winning restaurants.
Tavistock, an ancient market town is only ten minutes away by car and offers a good range of shops including its renowned pannier market which holds the main market every Friday. There is also a farmer market fortnightly (reported to be the best in the South West!).
The area has plenty of great days out and attractions. Take an enjoyable drive across Dartmoor to Okehampton with the remains of Devon’s largest castle, or visit the spectacular White Lady waterfall at Lydford Gorge or the iconic Brentor Church. The stunning coastlines of Devon and Cornwall are within easy reach by car for those wanting a day by the sea, or visit one of the many gardens including the world famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. You can also have a car free day by hopping on the bus to Plymouth or go by train where you get lovely views of the Tamar Valley along the way.
