South Devon Lodge sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and is a superb holiday choice for families with excellent on-site facilities to keep all ages entertained. Nestling amongst one hundred and thirty acres of glorious Devon Countryside, this welcoming lodge sits on the prestigious Finlake Holiday Park on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park and is just twenty minutes away by car to the coast.
Sitting in a peaceful spot on the park, the lodge has its own hot tub on the decking where you can relax and soak up the peace and tranquility, yet it has the many on-site facilities within strolling distance. You will struggle to tear yourself away from the park with so many things to do on the doorstep. There is coarse fishing (with two lakes), tennis, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools (including a flume which the kids will love), a very good gym for those who like to keep fit whilst away, as well as a sauna and beauty salon for some pampering. By day explore the nature trails or book to go horse riding, and by night relax with a drink in the Retreat Bar or an a la carte meal in the restaurant. Alternatively, pick up a takeaway from the farm shop and enjoy it back at the lodge, with a long bubble in the hot tub afterwards under the stars.
For the younger ones there is a 'Go Active' daily programme (seasonal) of events which includes the opportunity to go canoeing, try archery, fencing and waterwalkerz, or have a kick around and play football. If that isn't enough, the adventure play area, climbing wall and high ropes are sure to be a hit.
For those who can tear themselves away from Finlake Holiday Park, the surrounding area offers an abundance of attractions for day trips out. Spend your days discovering the magic of the pretty Dartmoor villages; enjoy walks or pony trekking across the moors; spend the day on the beach at Torquay, Paignton, Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dawlish, or slightly further away in the popular South Hams peppered with golden beaches; hire a bike (or bring your own) and explore the pretty Devon country lanes or tracks and trails of nearby Haldon Forest; or head to Plymouth and Exeter for an injection of city life.
Whether you decide to simply stay put, or venture away from the many facilities of the park, you are guaranteed an abundance of activities to keep you entertained (seasonal) day or night, as well as all the right ingredients to relax and unwind.
