Wilsey House sleeps six guests and is a cosy self-catering cottage in an enviable tranquil position, surrounded by beautiful scenery just a mile from the pretty cobbled village of Dent in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sitting in the county of Cumbria, the cottage is very well positioned for exploring the many attractions of the Dales and also Cumbria including the Lake District National Park which is within easy driving distance.
Dating back to the 17th Century, Wilsey House nestles in an elevated positioned in the picturesque hamlet of Gawthrop in Dentdale where breathtaking scenery abounds. Rolling countryside dotted with hay meadows and crossed by stone walls are a delight to the eye with an abundance of wonderful walks just waiting to be explored from the front door. A haven for wildlife, the area offers plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities with foxes, badgers, deer and buzzards that can be seen soaring up above.
For those who enjoy fishing, Salmon and Trout can be caught from the local rivers; and for golfers, there are a good choice of courses for those who fancy a game with the Dales providing a stunning backdrop (try Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh or Casterton courses). Alternatively, visit nearby Dent village and sample a proper pint of traditional ale and enjoy a leisurely lunch or supper in one of the two pubs or learn about Dales life in the Museum and Heritage Centre.
Wilsey House provides a welcoming retreat at any time of the year whether you want a base from which to explore the areas many attractions, fancy a walking holiday in the dales or simply want to immerse yourself in breathtaking scenery.

Outside: Off-road parking for up to four cars. Outside furniture provided for relaxing during the warmer months.
Additional information: Electric storage heaters keep the cottage warm during the colder months (included in the price). Bed linen is provided and included in the price (excluding short breaks when an additional small charge will be applied). Please bring your own towels. Well behaved dogs very welcome.
