Located in the beautiful tranquil village of Dufton, Mitown Farm nestles at the base of the Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cumbria and is within easy driving distance of The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders, all providing a wealth and diversity of attractions. Located in the village of Dufton, Midtown Farm is easily accessible from the M6 and also the A1 (via the A66) and is a delightful conservation area with a traditional village green and pub.
The farmhouse, featured within this advert, is a listed 18th Century Westmorland longhouse providing a spacious and beautifully equipped base from which to explore the many attractions of the area. The owners have carefully restored The Farmhouse, which sleeps up to eight guests, to provide welcoming accommodation with lots of charm and original traditional features including the huge farmhouse stone fireplace, original oak shutters and stone pantry and many beams.
For those who want to explore this beautiful area on foot or by bike, there are good walks (both challenging and gentle) and cycling opportunities with the stunning Pennines at the front door. You are also welcome to bring your dog (by prior arrangement) to enjoy the lovely walks. Alternatively simply relax in the garden and peaceful setting of Midtown Farm or take a short stroll to the pub on the village green for some friendly hospitality, good food and a pint of ale!
There are plenty of attractions and things to do within an hours drive including: A "Via Ferratta" - an exciting new way to get up a mountain; paint balling; pony trekking; quad biking; "Go Ape" - an aerial playground with zip wires; bread making courses at an organic village bakery; steam trains; animal parks; an ice cream farm; sailing and canoeing.
Appleby-in-Westmorland is the closest market town and offers a variety of shops including a top quality butchers and bakers. The nearest large town is Penrith which is just twelve miles away, offering all the usual amenities such as supermarkets, cinema, and plenty of other shops.

The Farmhouse Continued
The Farmhouse has four bedrooms and accommodates up to eight people, offering a high degree of comfort and style. Rooms are large and bright and afford a nice aspect overlooking the village green. Retaining many of its lovely original features, The Farmhouse offers a lovely blend of original character mixed with modern conveniences to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
