About Waters Edge 03, Waters Edge Retreat

Waters Edge 03, Waters Edge Retreat is a fantastic self-catering property boasting not only a waterfront location but also a private outdoor hot tub. With space for up to six people to sleep in three bedrooms, it is perfect for families who will love having access to the excellent amenities available as part of the Cotswold Water Park. The Lakeside Bar and Restaurant is only a 10-minute walk from the lodge.

The Cotswold Water Park is a 40-square mile oasis consisting of over 150 lakes, acres of nature reserves and 14 quaint Cotswold villages. The lodges in Waters Edge are architect-designed with a glass frontage overlooking a 28-acre lake and landscaped surroundings. The enormous windows frame beautiful lakeside views and give the sense of being outside even when curled up on the sofa.

As well as being close to the Lakeside Bar and Restaurant, guests at Waters Edge Retreat are also within walking distance of Lakeside Ski and Wake where they can waterski, wakeboard or ride inflatables and Ringos. All abilities are welcomed with tuition available so that everyone from novices to experts can have fun on the water, with the watersport season running between March and October.

For guests staying in the Cotswold Water Park there is plenty of free or affordable activities on offer. These include fishing, a spa, gym, bike hire, sailing and paddleboarding. In addition Cotswold Country Park & Beach, located a short drive away, offers a beach, childrens’ playground, pedalos and a fun, floating inflatable obstacle course. The villages of South Cerney and Cerney Wick are both within walking distance, giving visitors a choice of pubs, shops, cafes and other amenities. Cirencester is only five miles away, while the towns, villages and countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) are also nearby.

Days out can include climbing to the top of Broadway Tower, marvelling at the opulence of Blenheim Palace, saying hello to the residents of the Cotswold Farm Park or the 'exotics' at Cotswold Wildlife Park, or shopping and cocktails in Cheltenham. The Cotswolds is a beautiful year-round destination as there is always something wonderful to see and fun to do.

Waters Edge 03, Waters Edge Retreat is a modern home-away-from-home with high-quality furnishings that welcome guests and encourage them to relax. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Floor to ceiling windows ensures the fantastic water views are visible from everywhere in the open-plan living/dining area. Glass sliding doors open onto the waterfront deck to create an airy indoor/outdoor living space in summer.
  • Comfortable sofas are perfect for stretching out and relaxing with a drink in front of the TV, while the dining table seats up to six people.
  • In addition to a Smart TV with a DVD player, guests have a 6ft multi-games table.
  • Contemporary open-plan kitchen well-equipped for cooking everything from toast to a three-course gourmet meal, while a dishwasher helps with the clearing up.
  • Separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
  • Downstairs cloakroom with a WC and handbasin.
  • Spacious double room with zip-link beds that can be configured either as two 3ft single beds or a 6ft super-kingsized bed. Please state your preference when booking. A glass door opens onto the terrace. The ensuite wetroom has a shower, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom suite with a private balcony with outdoor seating overlooking the lake. The super-kingsized bed can be separated into two singles if guests prefer, and there is property storage. The ensuite has a generously sized shower, twin basins and a WC.
  • Additional bedroom with a super-kingsized (6ft-wide) bed that can also be configured as two full-sized singles, and an ensuite with a bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The waterfront balcony overhangs the lake and has outdoor seating, a gas barbecue and a hot tub. A flat lawn area is ideal for ball games and croquet. There is parking for one car outside the lodge with further parking available nearby.

Additional information: Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome (should you wish to bring more, please speak to a member of the Orion team). All utilities, including WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Stag and hen parties are not allowed in the park. Groups that are entirely male or female should enquire before booking.
