About The Bolt Hole

The Bolt Hole is a charming cottage for two located in the heart of the vibrant market town of Winchcombe in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfectly blending traditional features with modern day creature comforts, this delightful cottage oozes character and charm whilst leaving guests wanting for nothing. With a wood burning stove, a roll top bath, king size bed and gorgeous countryside views, the Bolt Hole is the perfect romantic retreat for couples looking for a combination of bracing walks, fine dining and historical attractions mixed with a touch of luxury.

Winchcombe is a picturesque market town that has something to offer in all seasons. Browse the independent shops, enjoy a refreshing pint in one of the timbered inns or treat yourself to dinner at the infamous 'Restaurant 5 North Street'. If you want to work up an appetite first there are plenty of stunning walks and bike rides on the doorstep where you can admire the gorgeous rolling countryside which is peppered with honey coloured villages and friendly inns. The Winchcombe Way, Cotswolds Way and Isbourne Way are all popular routes or enjoy a leisurely walk and picnic alongside the River Isbourne. The owners even provide a personalised walking map for guests so it is easy to plan your route. Sudely Castle and Gardens, an impressive estate steeped in history and heritage, is just a short stroll from the cottage. Alternatively, there is a choice of National Trust properties such as Chastleton House, Snowhill Manor and Garden and Hailes Abbey just a short drive away.

Other nearby Cotswold villages and towns to explore include Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Burford, Broadway and Chipping Campden. Explore the quirky shops, mouth watering tea rooms and weekly markets, or if you fancy a day at the races, the spa town of Cheltenham is just twenty minutes away. As well as the race course you will also find a huge array of fantastic places to eat, drink and shop as well as museums, gardens and historical attractions to explore.

Whether you are looking for a new adventure each day, or you just want to take some time out to soak up the stunning scenery, a holiday to The Bolt Hole is a treat at any time of the year.
