About Narracott House

Narracott House is a big holiday house in a peaceful location close to Cirencester and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The spacious property sleeps eight people in four bedrooms and is well-suited to families, including multi-generational families. It is in the quiet village of Ampney Crucis, whose name refers to the nearby brook. Narracott House is within walking distance of the Crown of Crucis bar and restaurant, with more amenities three miles away in Cirencester. This area has beautiful footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes and is within easy reach of some of the Cotswolds' most popular sights and attractions.

Cirencester has been making an impression on visitors since the Romans settled there and named it Corinium Dobunnorum. It thrived under Roman rule, becoming their second most significant city after London. There is a vast collection of artefacts at the Corinium Museum. Also worth visiting if you are interested in Roman history are the remains of a colossal amphitheatre and Chedworth Villa. The mosaics are some of the best-preserved in Britain. Even after the Romans departed, Cirencester remained important as a prosperous medieval wool town. It is now highly regarded as the "Capital of the Cotswolds" with an excellent variety of independent shops and business as well as a mix of familiar high street names. A day in Cirencester could include walking up Cecily Hill and around Cirencester Park before satisfying your appetite with a pot of tea and a scone at one of the numerous tea rooms. Admire Cirencester Abbey, then wander down Black Jack Street until you find a pub or cafe that takes your fancy. End the day with a visit to the museum or a leisurely browse around the shops. Cirencester's charter markets run every Monday and Friday, with the Corn Hall Indoor markets every Monday to Thursday.

There is more to the Cotswolds than Cirencester. Narracott House is ideal for attractions like the Cotswold Country Park and Beach, Cotswold Farm Park, and Sudeley Castle. Cheltenham is half an hour's drive if you like the idea of a day at the races, or you can tour the countryside, stopping and picturesque villages like Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Upper and Lower Slaughter. Oxford and Blenheim Palace are both under an hour's drive from the holiday home, while Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and Bristol are only slightly further.

Its welcoming interior, large garden and peaceful yet conveniently central location makes Narracott House perfect in every season.
