Mill Village 70, Horse Shoe is in a wonderfully peaceful setting in the popular Mill Village area of the Cotswold Water Park. The traditional Cotswold-style cottage comfortably sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms. It is perfect for couples or families who enjoy beautiful views over the water as well as access to the Estate's fantastic amenities.

The Cotswold Water Park is an award-winning development that both enhances and protects the 550-acres of England's most significant wetland reserve. Guests of Mill Village can enjoy beautiful views not only from the cottage but also from the myriad of footpaths and cycleways that pass around lakes and through the nature reserve. Fun-filled days can include swimming in a heated outdoor pool, seasonal fishing, playing tennis, creating adventures in the children's playground or friendly competitions in the games room.

For guests staying in the Cotswold Water Park there are plenty of free or affordable activities on offer. These include fishing, a spa, gym, bike hire, sailing and paddleboarding. The Cotswold Country Park & Beach, located a short drive away, offers a beach, childrens’ playground, pedalos and a fun, floating inflatable obstacle course.

Being only a short drive from Cirencester means that Mill Village 70, Horse Shoe is also ideal for visitors who want to explore the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the surrounding area. Cirencester is a vibrant town with thousands of years of history, a twice-weekly market, Roman ruins and lots of choice for shopping, eating and drinking. The Cotswolds is a collection of pretty towns and villages linking swathes of beautiful countryside, offering peaceful views while still being only 1.5 hours from bustling West London.

Attractions within easy reach for a day trip include the ancient city of Oxford with its famous spires and university buildings as well as excellent shopping and city entertainment. Beautiful Bath, with its lovely Regency buildings and links to Jane Austen, is an excellent place to visit. Alternatively, drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon - only an hour from Mill Village - and walk in the footsteps of England's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare. Swindon, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud are closer, as are villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and the Slaughters.

Local attractions include Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Highgrove Gardens, Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, the Cerney Equestrian Centre, Westonbirt Arboretum and the STEAM Museum of the Great Western Railway. Far from having to listen to the kids moan that they are bored, you'll wonder how you will possibly fit everything you want to do into your stay!

Mill Village 70, Horse Shoe is a traditional-style Cotswold stone cottage with accommodation over two levels.


  • Open plan living/dining area with glass doors that frame lovely views and open onto the south-facing sun deck. The living area has comfortable seating, a 40-inch SMART TV with Freesat channels and a DVD player, and a few family-friendly games for fun screen-free evenings in front of the log burner. The dining table seats four people.
  • Fitted galley-style kitchen that is well-equipped for family self-catering and has ample space for storing and preparing food.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.


  • Master bedroom with a double bed and glazed doors that open on to a south-facing balcony with a leafy outlook and views of the lake.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized (3ft-wide) single beds, bedside tables and a wardrobe.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The cottage has south-facing decks on both levels, with the lower one having direct lake frontage and stairs with access to the water and a shared pontoon for launching a kayak. There is outdoor seating with a parasol for lazy summer meals alfresco. The cottage has allocated parking.

Additional information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. One or two well-behaved dogs are welcome (should you wish to bring more, please speak to a member of the Orion team). Smoking is not permitted indoors.
