Treval Lodge is a gorgeous oak-framed cottage with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts guests at ease. It is the sort of place where you can kick off your shoes, put the kettle on and, within minutes of your arrival, feel as if you've already been on holiday for days. It is in the peaceful surroundings of the exclusive Inny Vale Holiday Village site, close to Davidstow Moor and surrounded by beautiful countryside yet only a few miles from the spectacular Cornish coastline with its glorious beaches (many which are dog-friendly). The lodge sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms plus a child in a travel cot and is ideal for families and friends.
Davidstow village is only half a mile from Treval Lodge, with a farm shop where guests can buy bread, milk and the newspaper. Supermarkets and more amenities are available in nearby Camelford, an ancient town with far-reaching views thanks to its location 700ft above sea level. This area is steeped in Arthurian myths flowing from Tintagel Castle, a few miles from the cottage. Even if you don't believe the links to the legend of King Arthur, the beauty of the ruined cliff-top castle is undeniable. Visitors with interest in all-things Arthur should also visit The Arthurian Centre in Slaughterbridge.
There are so many things to do around Treval Lodge. Hikers, ramblers and walkers all flock to this area for the spectacular moors, including Bodmin Moor. Trek to the peak of Brown Willy, the affectionate name given to the highest point in Cornwall with unparalleled views of the countryside and coast. The South West Coast Path is not far from Treval Lodge, while the footpaths around Crowdy Reservoir are even closer.
Cycling is another favourite local past time with the 18-mile Camel Trail proving especially popular for its easy navigation and lovely views. Golfers have their choice of multiple courses such as those at Launceston and Trethorne; and with the beach so close, surfing, coasteering, kayaking, fishing and swimming are always an option.
Local attractions include the Hidden Valley Discovery Park, Crealy Adventure Park, Cornish Birds of Prey Centre, Newquay Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium, and Flambards. Gardens like those at Lanhydrock House, Heligan and the Eden Project are also favourites.
There is something for everyone in every season when you stay at Treval Lodge, making it the perfect choice for your self-catering holiday in Cornwall.
