Tregrehan Garden is well situated on Cornwall's South Coast between the beautiful ancient coastal town of Fowey and the harbour village of Charlestown. One of Cornwall’s ‘Great Gardens’ open to the public in the spring, this 20acre rare woodland garden habours your garden cottage retreat.
Tregrehan Garden is an enchanting holiday location at all times of the year. You will be warmly welcomed to a fully equipped holiday cottage. The wood-burner will be lit (wood is free from the Estate), milk will be in the fridge, supermarket or vege boxes unpacked, your personal needs met whether to help unload your car, babysitting and bikes for your children and great spaces for dog walking in the parkland. Five casual holiday cottages for one to eight guests are reasonably priced from £225 to £970 per week with short breaks throughout the year from 2 nights.
The cottages are ideally placed to see the plethora of beautiful South Cornwall’s attractions. Within walking distance is the famous Eden Project and nearby you have the China Clay trails, historic Charlestown harbour, the neighbouring wooded and secluded Luxulyan valley and the beautiful Fowey Estuary. Within ten minutes drive you can explore the coastal path with its stunning views and swim at Polkerris beach, followed by a burger or pizza at Sam's restaurant. To the north find hours of walking and riding on the fascinating Bodmin Moor.
From early March Tregrehan is the prefect base for exploring Cornwall’s extraordinary garden culture. Caerhays, Trewithen, Marsh Villa, Lanhydrock and Heligan gardens are all within half an hours drive. A little further afield you have Rick Steins restaurants in Padstow where you can enjoy a fantastic meal and Fifteen (founded by Jamie Oliver) at Watergate Bay which is also popular for surfing, as are the beaches of Fistral and Polzeath - all within a forty minute drive. Alternatively just stay at Tregrehan Garden and enjoy a game of tennis or relax in the lovely setting. The walled garden is open to cottage guests all year, and access is to the outer garden is granted to keen guests on request and at no charge.
The pink granite Grade II listed stone holiday cottages sit off the end of a lime tree alley surrounding a large cobbled courtyard. Each cottage is spacious and has been thoughtfully designed, affording a private outlook with its own enclosed garden to suit the needs of both individuals and families.
