The Barn is one of four fantastic self-catering Cornwall Cottages on Chypons Farm, halfway between Penzance and St Ives. The cottages back onto beautiful woodland and are surrounded by verdant countryside yet are only three short miles from the beaches at St Ives and four miles from Penzance. The nearest pub, the Engine Inn, is a relaxed half mile walk from the front door, and with space for three people in two bedrooms, the cottage could not be more ideal for couples or small families.
Chypons Farm is in the friendly village of Nancledra from which lead some lovely walks through moorland and countryside. Boskednan, Chysauster and Zennor are also beautiful walking destinations with stunning views. Fans of the television show “Poldark” may recognise some of the local filming locations including Levant Mine, St Agnes Head and Porthcurno. The South West Coast Path covers 630 miles of breathtaking coastline with stunning views, unique geology and beautiful and diverse scenery. The 200-mile Cornish Way route is suitable for both walkers and cyclists, covering coast and countryside.
The beaches and coastline around The Barn are world class, and you could easily spend every day of your holiday discovering somewhere new and wonderful. One of the nearest beaches is Gwithian which stretches for three miles to include Hayle, Towan and Godrevy, the latter of which has a resident colony of seals. There are several nearby beaches where dogs are welcome all year round including Mexico Towans, Upton Towans, Bamaluz and Portheras Cove.
In addition to having fantastic shops, restaurants, pubs and amenities, St Ives is also a great place to learn to surf, or to take a boat trip and go diving, fishing or sightseeing. St Ives is easy to get to from the cottage by bus (the bus stop is just 50 yards from the cottage) and is renowned for its artistic community. The picturesque town has incredible galleries including the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gallery, Tate St Ives and many small independent businesses catering for all aesthetic tastes and genres. South of the cottage, Penzance and the surrounding coastline offer lovely sights like the open-air Minack Theatre and St Michael’s Mount.
Days out can include a visit to The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a photo-opportunity at Lands End, horse riding on Bodmin Moor, tasting the produce at the Cornish Cyder Farm or a thrilling ride at Flambards theme park. There are charming villages and historic towns to discover, local pubs and restaurants selling meals made from delicious produce you can see growing in the nearby fields, and endless miles of country lanes, bridleways and footpaths to explore.
Staying at Chypons Farm means everything is within easy reach, so you are not limited in how you spend your holiday. Whether you are travelling as a couple or have booked out several cottages to holiday with your extended family and friends, you will find it is a perfect place to stay.

The Barn is on the ground floor of a beautiful conversion, offering light and spacious accommodation all on one level.
Outside: All of the cottages at Chypons Farm face a central courtyard, and guests have shared use of the garden, summerhouse, drying facilities and barbecue. There is off-street parking for one car.
Additional Information: Utilities, linen and towels are included. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner and for a supplement. Short breaks are possible depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
