Stargazey Cottage sleeps up to four guests and is a charming 19th Century holiday cottage which was formerly used to store the horses and carriage for the main house (Millbrook). Perfect for couples looking for a romantic break or a holiday with the children, Stargazey Cottage is just two hundred yards from the 16th Century coaching Inn and five minutes from Hayle Beach with three miles of beautiful golden sands.
Located in the picturesque Cornish village of Angarrack, St Ives is just fifteen minutes away by car. Hayle shopping centre is a two minute drive as is one of the best farm shops in Cornwall selling fresh fish, organic meats, deli and local produce. For walkers, there are plenty of great walks from the front door.
The original coach light (which is now electric) is still working today in the walled garden where there is a private five seater hot tub. Bordering the village stream, the garden is a wonderful place for a barbeque before lighting the logs in the fire bowl and jumping in the hot tub to watch the shooting stars (which are a truly amazing sight due to the lack of light pollution in the area). The master bedroom has lovely sloping ceilings and is a haven of peace and tranquillity with only the sounds of the stream outside the window and the birds in the surrounding trees to wake you!
Stargazey Cottage is very private although the owners do live next door and are always on hand to help if it is needed. They are happy to receive an advance on-line grocery shop if you would like the supplies put away ready for you to start your holiday.
Ideally situated, Stargazey Cottage provides the perfect base from which to explore North and South Cornwall, with the main A30 just half a mile away. A multitude of beautiful St Ives Bay beaches (great surfing) are close by including Hayle Beach, Gwithian Beach and Carbis Bay. Towns such as St Ives (home to the Tate Gallery and many award winning restaurants), Lands End, Mousehole, Penzance, Falmouth, Newquay and Truro are within easy reach. There are also an abundance of attractions for days out including the famous Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Flambards Theme Park for a thrilling day of fun, the world famous open-air Minack Theatre and Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary which the little ones will love - all within easy reach.
At any time of the year this is a perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. Christmas is also a very popular time to visit Angarrack (the award winning Christmas village of light in Cornwall) when the whole valley is lit with the lights depicting the twelve days of Christmas and of course not forgetting the customary visit from Santa Claus on the first Saturday in December each year.
