Old Newham Farm, set deep in the Cornish countryside, offers a choice of three traditional stone holiday cottages dating back some two hundred years, ideal for couples, friends or families. Each cottage is quite different, both in ambience and layout, with two (The Stables and Nutmegs Cottage) sleeping four guests in each and the other (Skyber Cottage featured within this advert) sleeping two.
Grouped around the original farm yard, the cottages offer modern comforts whilst retaining much of their original character. The farming activities have now moved away from the yard although are still close by for you to watch and on the thirty acre organic farm you can see cattle, pygmy goats, pet pigs, ducks, chickens and horses.
The surrounding area is a haven for wildlife with its tree lined river valley where you can spot heron, buzzards, kingfishers and otters if you are lucky, to name just a few.
This unique location between Bude and Camelford, in the very heart of Cornwall's beautiful rolling countryside, is ideally located just a few minute's drive from the fantastic North Cornish coastline. It offers easy access to the areas many attractions, fantastic beaches and beautiful countryside that both Cornwall and North Devon have to offer. Alternatively, just stay put and enjoy the relaxing environment of Old Newham Farm where the only noise to disrupt your peace and quiet is the muffled chewing of grass from the cattle grazing nearby or the gurgling of the distant river.
Most of Cornwall can be reached within an hour but for nearby conveniences, Wainhouse Corner is just one and a half miles for "village" shopping and the magical fishing village of Boscastle is five miles away offering pubs, tea rooms and shops, along with several beaches within fifteen minutes.
North Cornwall offers a wealth of magnificent scenery, medieval churches, ancient castles, pretty fishing villages and fantastic surfing beaches. The scenery is wilder and more rugged than the south coast with an unparalleled appeal for those with a passion for nature and the great outdoors. There are peaceful leafy lanes and footpaths to explore with miles of Coastal Paths and vast expanses of open moorland abundant with flora and fauna in the warmer months.
Whatever time of year you plan to visit Cornwall, Old Newham Farm provides a welcoming retreat.
