Higher Tregidden - Cob Cottage

Cob Cottage is one of two delightful holiday cottages located at Higher Tregidden. Sitting amongst rolling countryside, within an AONB, Cob Cottage provides the perfect base from which to explore South West Cornwall.

Set in a peaceful valley on the Lizard Peninsula, to the South of the Helford River, this is an ideal place to escape to, for a relaxing holiday. The Lizard Peninsula is truly unique and a mysterious and magical place where its rolling rural landscape is fringed by a dramatic coastline peppered with stunning golden beaches and interesting rocky coves.

Cob Cottage provides the perfect retreat for visiting the many tourist attractions that Cornwall has to offer. These include the Eden Project, Tate St. Ives, National Maritime Museum and magnificent gardens such as Trebah near Falmouth and Glendurgan to name just a few.

The cottages at Higher Tregidden were formerly part of Lord Falmouth’s estate and are Cornish farm buildings, traditionally built and more recently converted to provide very comfortable holiday accommodation whilst still retaining much of their original character. The cottages are nicely tucked away along a private lane and are surrounded by meadows (seven acres), woodland and an orchard which guests are more than welcome to explore.

Being positioned on Britain's most southerly point, the Lizard Peninsula affords a milder climate due to the Gulf Stream, extending the summer months nicely into Spring and Autumn. Beaches are up there with some of the country's finest with pale coloured sand and crystal clear waters, and the landscape is varied with dramatic cliffs, contrasting against the greener more gentle landscape of the Helford River. Picture postcard villages and fishing harbours add to the interest of this beautiful landscape and provide visitors with a taste of 'unspoilt' Cornwall.

The Helford River is truly magical with its lush wooded landscape with little creeks, riverside villages and wonderful sub-tropical gardens, just waiting to be explored on foot, bike or by boat (motor and rowing boats can be hired from Helford River Boats at Helford Passage, allowing you to explore the waters under your own steam).

There are plenty of activities to enjoy if you are not content with simply relaxing. Helford River, Gillan Creek and the Bay provide excellent boating, sailing and water sports opportunities and for those who enjoy walking, explore the South West Coastal Path which runs entirely around the Peninsula providing fantastic walking for all.
