Foxglove Barn sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and stands alone on the edge of the small Cornish hamlet of Trequite with its little green and stone celtic cross. Just slightly inland from Cornwall's stunning North coast, the barn is nicely tucked away in an unspoilt tranquil countryside setting, yet only a short drive from Port Isaac (home of Doc Martin), Polzeath, Rock and Padstow, a haven for foodies with Rick Stein's famous seafood restaurant amongst the many fine eateries.
Sensitively converted from a farm building, Foxglove Barn is perfect for small families, couples and singles and has all year round appeal. There is a log burner for cosy winter nights and a patio for enjoying the spring and summer sunshine with lovely views down the valley to the surrounding hills that encapsulate the area.
The 15th Century church of St James is within walking distance (quarter of a mile), as is the St Kew Inn, a nice traditional pub serving good food and cask ales. There is also a shop and garage half a mile away for provisions.
The pretty town of Wadebridge on the River Camel is just three miles away from Foxglove Barn with a larger selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and a cinema. From here you can pick up the Camel Trail and cycle the scenic route to Padstow (bike hire available) and enjoy a leisurely lunch, browse the shops or laze on the beach.
For those who enjoy surfing, this beautiful part of Cornwall's coastline is peppered with fabulous sandy beaches, as well as incredible walks along the South West Coastal Path or inland through the Cornish countryside and Bodmin's dramatic moorland. It also has plenty of great days out including the world famous Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, mystic and legendary Tintagel with its connections to King Arthur and Lanhydrock House to name just a few.
