Elm Cottage is part of a collection of self-catering holiday cottages at St Tinney Farm. With two bedrooms sleeping up to four people (plus cot), modern furnishings and all the comforts of home, the cottage is perfect for couples, families and friends. A former dairy farm, St Tinney has been transformed to provide a range of holiday accommodation and excellent amenities including an on-site bar serving good food.
You don't have to leave the farm to have a fantastic family holiday in Cornwall. The 34-acre property has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and boasts an impressive 12 times winner of the Gold Award for Conservation by Professor David Bellamy (as well as gaining the Certificate for Excellence for the past 10 years from Trip Advisor). A wide variety of flora and fauna thrive in the beautiful conditions and nature trails that wind their way around the property so that guests are free to explore to their heart's content. Onsite facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, games room, children's play areas, five coarse fishing lakes, a licensed bar serving good food and takeaway so there really is no need to leave St Tinney Farm if you simply want to relax.
The farm is on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Otterham and there is evidence people have existed here happily for centuries. The village is peaceful and there are some lovely footpaths and cycling routes around the area including on Hendraburnick Downs where there are Bronze Age barrows. Tintagel village and castle, the supposed birthplace of legendary King Arthur, is close by, as is Boscastle. Both are excellent choices for a day out with plenty to see and do.
No family holiday to Cornwall would be complete without a day or two at the beach. Whether you swim or surf at Widemouth Bay and Bude in the summer, or spend a blustery winter day walking along the sand before warming up with hot fish and chips, the beaches here are beautiful and justify their standing as one of the country's favourite holiday destinations.
Elm Cottage and the amenities at St Tinney Farm make it easy for families to relax and enjoy spending time together. The peaceful location is convenient for exploring both the coast and the countryside and there is a lot on-site to keep the kids happily entertained while their parents relax.
