Cleave Cottage is in a picturesque spot in the tiny hamlet of St Gennys, close to Crackington Haven. It's utterly charming, with three hundred years of history and character rolled into one beautiful stone holiday cottage with high ceilings, exposed beams, and the sort of character that only develops over time. Guests have the best of both worlds with stunning countryside walks and bike rides from the door and the gorgeous beaches of the North Cornwall coast, a five-minute drive, easy cycle or just over a mile's walk from the door. Cleave Cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and, because it is child and pet-friendly, is perfect for couples or families.
Crackington Haven is a fantastic place for a holiday. No matter what the season, the cove and sheltering cliffs are always picture-perfect. It doesn't get as busy as nearby Widemouth Bay, and the smaller swells are suitable for swimmers and inexperienced surfers. Dogs are allowed all day long from October to mid-May and in the mornings and evenings during the summer months. The walk from the cottage to the beach is impressive, with native gorse and wildflowers covering the cliffs and contrasting beautifully with the sea that changes colours with the weather.
The cottage is close to 12th Century Tintagel Castle, expertly managed by English Heritage with dramatic scenery, a secret cave, and a mystical history. Tintagel village is also worth a visit for its galleries, potteries, shops and cafes. Although it is a tourist hot-spot, kids will love the Arthurian touches and the sweet shop where stock is handmade in the traditional way. Other places are the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Camel Valley Vineyard, Pencarrow House, and the Bodmin and Wenford Railway. Treat yourself to a sublime seafood meal and adopt a lobster at the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow. Newquay has a world-famous beach, an aquarium and a zoo, or you can go to the National Seal Sanctuary.
Cleave Cottage is set amongst six other dwellings at Cleave Farm, some of which are holiday accommodation and some are permanent residents, including the owners who are available for advice should it be required. The farm is up a mile long lane, secluded and very peaceful and tranquil, yet close to all that Cornwall and Devon has to offer. It is just 150 metres from the South West Coast Path and within easy reach of Bude where there are supermarkets and other amenities. Holiday bookings are available all year round.

The farm was purchased by the owner's parents in the seventies who lovingly converted the old barns and ran them as holiday cottages for over forty years. Many guests return year after year.
